Iran Brands Trump ‘Enemy of Allah’

A coalition of 100 Muslim scholars and intellectuals, reported by Iran’s state media, publicly denounced President Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as “enemies waging war against God” and “corrupters on Earth,” referencing verses from the Qur’an to characterize their actions as morally and spiritually corrupt.

Iran’s media have denounced Trump and Netanyahu for “their acts of spreading corruption, bloodshed, occupation of Islamic lands, massacres of oppressed Palestinians, and crimes against humanity.”

This collective declaration follows the recent escalation known as the “12‑day war,” during which Iran accused the U.S. and Israel of targeting its nuclear facilities.

The statement lambasted any form of compromise or normalization with the U.S. or Israel as religiously forbidden (haram) under Sharia law. The declaration further voiced “full and unwavering support” for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei, urging global Muslim unity in resistance. The initiative included Sunni and Shia figures from countries such as Iraq, Pakistan, Australia, and the United States.

Last week, Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami led crowds in chanting “death to America” and “death to Israel.”

“You are murderers, you need to be punished… The ruling regarding Trump and Netanyahu, according to sharia, is that the pair of them should be executed,” asserted Khatami.

This mass denunciation builds on earlier fatwas issued by Grand Ayatollah Naser Makarem Shirazi, who in late June formally declared both Trump and Netanyahu as “enemies of God” (mohareb), sanctioning any Muslim who acts against them under Sharia penalties. The action echoes past threats like the 1989 fatwa against Salman Rushdie, which incited violence years later.

Critics argue that this rhetoric could embolden extremist violence, casting doubt on Tehran’s intentions toward international diplomacy. U.S. officials and Western commentators warn the statements may incite homegrown terror attacks and escalate global tensions.
