Internal documents from the Democratic Socialists of America’s Anti-War Working Group (AWWG) reveal the plans and efforts to carry out socialist demands in New York City.
The documents, obtained by Just the News, include a list of policy goals, including removing city funds from banks lending money to Israel, developing city-run grocery stores without Israeli products, end former Mayor Eric Adam’s NYC-Israel economic council, and other initiatives.
According to the document, the entity also hopes to arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The document notes that newly elected Mayor Zohran Mamdani “may be out of reach for AWWG,” although it emphasizes that the organization plans to “[m]ake it clear to electeds that if they want our support, our priorities matter.” AWWG further plans to provide a plan for Mamdani and aims to “pressure him to staff with people whose values are aligned.”
Just the News added in its report that the DSA passed a resolution called, “For a Fighting Anti-Zionist DSA.” The resolution stressed that “Palestinian liberation is the moral compass of the socialist movement, representing a critical junction of popular consciousness.”
Ahead of the election, Elon Musk called Mamdani a “charismatic swindler.”
“Mamdani is a charismatic swindler,” he said. “I mean you gotta hand it to him, like, he can light up a stage, but he has just been a swindler his entire life.”
“If Mamdani’s policies are put into place, especially at scale, it would be a catastrophic decline in living standards, not just for the rich, but for everyone. As has been the case with every socialist experiment,” Musk added.
