Greek Foreign Minister Praises Trump, Global Peace Credit

Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis has praised President Donald Trump’s leadership on the global stage, crediting him with ushering in a new era of peace, economic stability, and stronger transatlantic ties. Gerapetritis made the comments during an interview with Breitbart News Washington Bureau Chief Matthew Boyle at the Doha Forum in Qatar.

The discussion focused on U.S.-European Union relations and Greece’s strategic foresight in predicting a successful and mutually beneficial trade deal between the two powers. Gerapetritis emphasized that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis recognized early on the significance of the shift in American leadership following Trump’s 2024 re-election.

“At a very early stage, he recognized the driving force that the new American leadership would bring to Europe and to the world,” Gerapetritis said. He credited Trump’s administration with inspiring European nations to reexamine their policy foundations, especially in areas of economic autonomy and defense readiness.

Gerapetritis highlighted that in the last ten months, Europe’s strategic outlook has shifted significantly, particularly with respect to NATO and defense capabilities. “We have developed two major programs to rearm Europe,” he said, citing new initiatives aimed at strengthening European defense and deterrence in a time of global instability.

He also connected improvements in defense strategy to Trump’s influence, stating that the EU and U.S. have now found a “mutually beneficial” formula on trade and international cooperation.

The Greek official noted that U.S.-Greek relations are at an “all-time high,” and credited the Trump administration for the renewed transatlantic momentum. “We have to commend on the efforts of the new American administration to actually lead the world towards a more peaceful and prosperous future,” Gerapetritis concluded.

His remarks reflect a growing recognition among international allies of President Trump’s leadership and strategic vision.
