Gov. Gavin Newsom ‘Can Have the Job I’m Looking For’: Joe Biden

Speaking Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Kickoff Party, President Joe Biden suggested California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) could become president.

“I want to thank him,” Biden said, adding that Newsom is a strong governor.

“Matter of fact, he can be anything he wants, he could have the job I’m lookin’ for.”

The comment generated numerous responses on social media.

“That’s the plan. Newsom replaces Biden with Xi’s approval of course,” one user tweeted.

“Well, there it is fellas,” another individual said.

Newsom has not announced a presidential campaign, although many believe he seeks the White House.

Democratic Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman reportedly accused California Gov. Gavin Newsom of running for president without making a public announcement.

“There are two additional Democrats running for Pennsylvania, excuse me, running for president right now,” Fetterman said at an Iowa Democratic Party dinner. “One is a congressman from Minnesota, the other one is the governor of California, but only one has the guts to announce it.”

In September, Newsom told NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, “We need to move past this notion that he’s not going to run. President Biden is going to run and I’m looking forward to him getting reelected.”

When asked what would happen if Biden suspended his campaign, Newsom said he would support Vice President Kamala Harris.

“I think the vice president is naturally the one lined up,” Newsom said.
