- Nour-Eddine Omran of the Norwegian Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research led a team of scientists through a study that claims a warm-water sea current is lessening and resulting in cooler temperatures throughout the Northern Hemisphere.
- The study is based on observations of the North Atlantic Multidecadal Oscillation (AMO), a warm-water current that has been recorded since the 19th century.
- Statistical models “project further weakening of North Atlantic Oscillation, North Atlantic cooling and hiatus in wintertime North Atlantic-Arctic sea-ice and global surface temperature just like the 1950s–1970s,” the study reads.
- Although the researchers attribute some climate conditions to human causation, they highlight that the primary determinant of Northern Hemisphere climate is the AMO.
- Current climate observations, such as Greenland’s ice sheet growth, support the research.
GLOBAL ELITES PUSHING CLIMATE ALARMISM:
- At the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) recent conference in Davos, Switzerland, former Vice President Al Gore said that climate change is currently “boiling the oceans.”
- “We’re still putting 162 million tons [of greenhouse gas] into [the atmosphere] every single day and the accumulated amount is now trapping as much extra heat as would be released by 600,000 Hiroshima-class atomic bombs exploding every single day on the earth,” he said.
- “That’s what’s boiling the oceans, creating these atmospheric rivers, and the rain bombs, and sucking the moisture out of the land, and creating the droughts, and melting the ice and raising the sea level, and causing these waves of climate refugees!”
- John Kerry, US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, said at Davos that “we are heading to 2.5 [degrees warming] right now. And we really must turn that around.”
- Gore and Kerry’s claims of significant warming apparently contradict the cooling period currently observed.
BACKGROUND:
- American Faith reported that the WEF said U.S. taxpayers should give $525 billion to “vulnerable countries” being plagued by “climate-linked losses.” The WEF has also called for the elimination of meat, instead consuming seaweed, algae, and bugs, as a “sustainable” source of food in the wake of “climate change.”
- Climate Intelligence (CLINTEL), an independent foundation that operates in the fields of climate change and climate policy, published a document containing the signatures of more than 1,100 scientists and experts who assert that “there is no climate emergency.”
