A Florida man has been arrested after allegedly making disturbing threats against President Donald Trump, prompting an investigation by the U.S. Secret Service. Authorities took 42-year-old Kendal Aaron Todd into custody in St. Lucie County following a series of social media posts targeting the former president.
The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team, in coordination with the Secret Service, executed an arrest and search warrant after Todd’s threats escalated. Sheriff Richard Del Toro explained that Todd’s statements had become increasingly concerning. “He just kept escalating his behavior,” Del Toro said. “He got the attention obviously of the United States Secret Service — and that got our attention.”
In one of his now-deleted social media clips, Todd reportedly made bizarre claims, calling Trump “the Antichrist” and blaming him for global misfortune. According to reports, his threats intensified, leading federal authorities to intervene.
“We worked with them [U.S. Secret Service] to obtain the arrest warrant and the search warrant today,” Del Toro stated. “Got there today again, the SWAT team was there. We were in full force.”
Neighbors described Todd as reclusive, noting that he rarely interacted with others and was mostly active at night. Del Toro emphasized that political disagreements should never turn violent. “We’ve had attempts on our president’s life before, and we’re not taking any chances,” he said. “The full weight of the sheriff’s office was going to investigate that.”
According to WPTV, Todd has been charged with making written threats to harm and is being held on a $500,000 bond.
The arrest comes months after the first assassination attempt on Trump, which left him injured and resulted in the death of a supporter. More recently, authorities arrested Ryan Wesley Routh for allegedly plotting another attack at Trump’s Florida golf course.
