Firm Building Plant Near U.S. Military Base Connected to Chinese Government

The parent company of a firm constructing a manufacturing facility near Midwest military bases is connected to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

Cnano USA’s parent company, Cnano Jiangsu Technology, employs CCP members and was once associated with a military program, according to a report from the Daily Caller.

The facility is located about 70 miles from Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri.

The information was revealed during a Kansas House Committee on Commerce, Labor, and Economic Development hearing.

“I absolutely share the same concerns as all of you regarding foreign actors that could be a threat to our economy, our security, our safety and sincerely appreciate Kansas legislation’s effort to protect those fundamental interests,” said Shawn Montgomery, Cnano USA president.

Representative Jake LaTurner (R-KS) addressed the revelation on X. “Cnano USA’s testimony failed to adequately address the overwhelming evidence that ties their parent company, Cnano Jiangsu, to President Xi, the CCP, and Chinese intelligence services,” he wrote. “I applaud the Kansas legislature for working diligently to ensure we can protect our supply chains and crucial military bases from America’s greatest national security threat—the Chinese Communist Party.”

American Faith reported that the U.S. House Committee on Oversight and Accountability has initiated an investigation into recent allegations regarding Chinese foreign nationals accessing secure U.S. military bases and facilities.

The probe is spearheaded by Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Glenn Grothman (R-WI), Chairman of the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs.

In a letter to the leadership of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), the Chairmen wrote, “According to a recent report, Chinese nationals, sometimes posing as tourists, have repeatedly accessed, or attempted to access, U.S. military bases and other sensitive government facilities as often as one hundred times in recent years.”

They emphasized that these “efforts to access U.S. military bases and facilities raise concerns about what these Chinese nationals are seeking to access and for what purpose.”
