Feds Go After Foreigners Celebrating Kirk’s Assassination

Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau urged people to report foreign visa applicants if they were known to have made comments supporting or making light of the death of Charlie Kirk.

“In light of yesterday’s horrific assassination of a leading political figure, I want to underscore that foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country. I have been disgusted to see some on social media praising, rationalizing, or making light of the event, and have directed our consular officials to undertake appropriate action,” Landau wrote on social media. “Please feel free to bring such comments by foreigners to my attention so that the @StateDept can protect the American people.”

When asked by X users where to file the reports, Landau said, “Please repost them here. I will direct consular officials to monitor the comments to this post.”

Comments were filled with people filing reports against those making light of Kirk’s assassination.

The FBI has recovered a “bolt-action, high-powered rifle” in a wooded area near where the assassin fled. The agency has also announced that it is offering a “reward of up to $100,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah.”

Special Agent in Charge Robert Bohls said during a press conference, “As of this morning, we have received more than 130 tips. The FBI has brought every resource to bear, and we will continue to do so throughout the course of this investigation.”
