The FBI announced a $50,000 reward for information leading to the identification and arrest of the individual responsible for the shooting at Brown University.
Announcing the reward on social media, FBI Boston said, “Our agents and analysts remain fully embedded with our law enforcement partners. We are working together to track down leads, canvass neighborhoods, and develop intelligence.”
“Our Evidence Response Team remains on campus processing the scene and our Lab at Quantico has sent personnel to assist in documenting the trajectory of the bullets,” it wrote, adding that it will continue to “provide all assets, resources, and personnel to support our partners so we can bring the individual responsible for this mass shooting to justice, and get the victims, survivors, their families, and all of you the answers you deserve.”
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed the FBI will “[continue] to act in an assisting role with the Providence PD leading the investigation.”
“Anything Rhode Island authorities need from this FBI, we will be there,” he wrote on X.
Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee (D) said in a statement that he “will continue to make every resource available to the City of Providence and Brown University. I have directed Rhode Island State Police Colonel Weaver to continue to provide all necessary investigative and patrol support to the city and the campus.”
Saturday’s shooting at Brown University left two people dead and nine others wounded. Law enforcement officials identified the individual as a “person of interest” and confirmed he was taken into custody. He has since been released.
