Georgia Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis admitted to having a “personal relationship” with prosecutor Nathan Wade.
Willis wrote in a court filing, “To be absolutely clear, the personal relationship between Special Prosecutor Wade and District Attorney Willis has never involved direct or indirect financial benefit to District Attorney Willis.”
Wade also noted in the filing that he and Willis had a “personal relationship.”
“In 2022, District Attorney Willis and I developed a personal relationship in addition to our professional association and friendship,” the document details.
According to the document, Willis and Wade were not engaged in a “personal relationship” in November 2021, “at the time of Special Prosecutor Wade’s appointment.”
It also reads that the “attacks on Special Prosecutor Wade’s qualifications are factually inaccurate, unsupported, and malicious, in addition to providing no basis whatsoever to dismiss the indictment or disqualify Special Prosecutor Wade.”
Willis said in Wade’s defense, “[T]he truth is that Wade has long distinguished himself as an exceptionally talented litigator with significant trial experience. He is a diligent and relentless advocate known for his candor with the Court, and a leader more than capable of managing the complexity of this case.”
Donald Trump responded to the court filing in a statement on Truth Social, writing that Willis was able to “get her ‘lover’ much more money” by going after him.
“Fani Willis, the DA of Fulton County, just admitted to having a sexual relationship with the Prosecutor she, in consultation with the White House and DOJ, appointed to ‘GET PRESIDENT DONALD J TRUMP,'” Trump wrote. “By going after the most high level person, and the Republican Nominee, she was able to get her ‘lover’ much more money, almost a Million Dollars, than she would be able to get for the prosecution of any other person or individual. THAT MEANS THAT THIS SCAM IS TOTALLY DISCREDITED & OVER!”
