Elon Musk Criticizes Trump’s Bill as ‘Disgusting Abomination’

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk launched a sharp rebuke of President Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill,” calling it a “pork-filled Congressional spending bill” and a “disgusting abomination.” Musk expressed his outrage on X, accusing lawmakers who supported the bill of betraying their constituents.

“I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore,” Musk wrote. “This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong.”

The bill narrowly passed the House in May by a 215-214-1 vote. The legislation is central to President Trump’s second-term economic and government reform agenda. The bill includes extending the 2017 Trump-era tax cuts, eliminating federal taxes on tips, increasing defense and border security spending, and tightening accountability in federal healthcare programs.

Despite Musk’s opposition, President Trump has been vocal in his support, describing it as “a historic opportunity” to correct course after what he called “four disastrous years” under the Biden administration. Trump emphasized the bill’s sweeping tax reforms, including ending taxes on Social Security benefits for seniors and exempting overtime and tips from federal income taxes.

“Passing THE ONE, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL is a Historic Opportunity to turn our Country around,” Trump said on Truth Social. “We will take a massive step to balancing our Budget by enacting the largest mandatory Spending Cut EVER and Americans will get to keep more of their money.”

Trump aims to have the bill signed by the Fourth of July, a symbolic milestone as he campaigns to restore conservative economic leadership. While Musk’s criticism underscores ongoing concerns about fiscal discipline, Trump’s supporters argue the bill delivers essential tax relief and government restraint.
