Donald Trump Jr. 2028 Presidential Run Rumors Debunked

Donald Trump Jr. delivered a scathing response to Mediaite on Friday after the outlet published a report claiming he was considering a 2028 presidential run. The article, which cited unnamed “high-level” Trump sources, suggested that Trump Jr. was positioning himself as a top contender to succeed his father.

The report offered no on-the-record sources and failed to present any concrete evidence supporting its claims. Instead, it relied on speculation from anonymous insiders, one of whom asserted that “one hundred percent he will run, but only for president, not VP.”

Trump Jr. wasted no time shutting down the rumors. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he mocked the article’s premise, highlighting the absurdity of the claim that he would compete against Vice President JD Vance—whom he had strongly supported for Trump’s running mate.

“I accurately predicted that my buddy JD would be an instant power player in national GOP politics, so your theory is that I worked hard to help get him the VP nomination because I want to run for president in 2028?” Trump Jr. wrote. “That makes no sense.”

He didn’t stop there, further blasting the outlet for publishing baseless speculation. “Congrats to @dianafalzone & @Mediaite for embarrassing themselves,” he posted.

Trump Jr. followed up by ridiculing Mediaite for its lack of journalistic integrity, stating that the article was so blatantly false that even other members of the media were mocking it.

His response quickly gained traction on social media, with conservatives applauding his direct approach in calling out misleading reporting.
