“It’s as bad as we thought,” says House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY).

- “Since we’ve last spoken, we have bank records in hand. We have individuals who are working with our committee. In the last two weeks, we’ve met with either these individuals personally or with their attorneys,” Comer explained.
- “And that would be four individuals who had ties in with the Biden family in their various schemes around the world. We have in hand documents in hand that show just exactly how the Biden family was getting money from the Chinese Communist Party.”
- “It’s as bad as we thought, Maria, it’s very concerning and in a way, I’m kind of glad the Biden attorney, Abbe Lowell, and the Biden administration have been stonewalling us because when I requested that information two weeks ago, versus today, because of what we have in hand now, we have a lot stronger case in court for why we need these documents that the Biden family’s withholding and that the government’s withholding,” the chairman continued.
- Comer concluded that the Bidens and the government have “unintentionally helped our [committee’s] case in our quest to get these documents to where we can give the American people the proof and transparency that they deserve out of their leadership in Washington.”
COMER’S UPCOMING OVERSIGHT HEARINGS:
- “We have a lot of questions about [Kathy Chung’s] role in moving documents,” Comer told Bartiromo.
- Kathy Chung is Joe Biden’s former executive assistant and aided Biden in packing up his office during his time as vice president.
- “We all know now that Joe Biden had mishandled classified documents in at least five different locations. We know from text messages and emails she got the job to help the Biden family move documents at the recommendation of Hunter Biden,” Comer continued.
- In describing the Biden bank records he has obtained, Comer stated there appeared to be “a lot of transfers from account to account to account,” likely the reasons for the suspicious activity reports.
- “The banks would look at this like they must be laundering money or something. I don’t necessarily think they were laundering money, Maria. It looks to me like they were trying to hide the source of that money and the source was the Chinese Communist Party,” the Kentucky congressman explained.
- He concluded, asking, “If you’re conducting legitimate business activities, why so many transfers? Why are you trying to hide the source of that money?”
BACKGROUND:
- Hunter Biden associate Gal Luft reportedly provided the FBI with significant information about the Biden family’s foreign business activities.
- Luft, now arrested on charges of illegally selling weapons to Libya and China, served as an adviser to CEFC China Energy, a corporation believed to be linked to the CCP.
- Luft’s claims of providing the FBI with information come as former Hunter Biden business partner Eric Schwerin started cooperating with the House Oversight Committee’s investigation of the Biden family’s foreign business dealings.
