DNC Delegate Robbed at Gunpoint

A Democrat delegate was robbed at gunpoint in downtown Chicago.

The delegate from Texas was “walking with a friend when they were targeted around 2 a.m. in the 100 block of West Randolph,” CWB Chicago reported.

The identity of the man has not been revealed.

Ski-masked suspects took a man’s wallet and room key before crossing the street to rob another man and woman, who are believed to be the delegate and his friend, according to reports.

After robbing the pair, the suspects got into an SUV and sped away.

The suspects have been described as Black males standing between 5’7″ to 5’9″ tall. They have also been linked to other robberies that occurred earlier this week.

Fox News reported that on the second day of the Democratic National Convention, there were five shootings involving 12 victims, which resulted in one death, and one aggravated battery incident.

On Monday, there were eight shootings involving four fatalities.

“Our officers are out there. They’re out there. They’re highly visible,” Chicago Police Department Superintendent Larry Snelling said. And we have officers not only along the corridors downtown, in and around the venues of the Democratic National Convention, but also in our neighborhoods to continue to protect our people who are living in areas that are the most vulnerable. Our officers are protecting the entire city.”
