Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that the department has identified those involved in leaking ICE raid information and will be prosecuted.
“We have identified two leakers of information here at the Department of Homeland Security who have been telling individuals about our operations and putting law enforcement lives in jeopardy,” Noem said in a video. “We plan to prosecute these two individuals and hold them accountable for what they’ve done.”
“We’re going to continue to do all that we can to keep America safe,” she added.
Noem wrote on X that the leakers “face up to 10 years in federal prison.”
Leakers previously exposed raid information to Migrant Insider. The outlet’s editor, Pablo Manriquez, shared the information on social media.
On March 2, he wrote on X, “ICE RAIDS are planned for Monday & Tuesday in Northern Virginia, per multiple sources who tell us ICE has obtained between 75 and 100 judicial warrants.” In a follow-up post on March 3, he said, “ICE has been spotted in Buchanan, Buckingham, Ft. Myers, Ballston, Arlington, Rosslyn, Manases, and on the Little River Turnpike—all in Northern Virginia.”
Noem stated that DHS “will not be deterred by leaks.”
“If you come to this country and break our laws, we will hunt you down. Successful enforcement operation this morning—getting MS-13 members, 18th Street gang members and perpetrators of sexual crimes off our streets.”
Border czar Tom Homan told Fox News’ Sean Hannity last month that he believed the leaks were coming “from the inside.”He added that the leaks were “putting officers’ lives at risk.”
“It’s only a matter of time until we walk into a place and there’s a bad guy who doesn’t care, he’s going to be sitting in wait for the officers to show up and ambush him. This is not a game.”
