Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is calling for doctors who provide gender-conforming surgeries to be sued.
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis said that from a child health and well-being perspective, doctors should not be providing care to those suffering from gender dysphoria.

FLORIDA GOV. ON DOCTORS WHO PERFORM GENDER-TRANSFORMING SURGERIES:
“They talk about these very young kids getting ‘gender-affirming care,’” said DeSantis. “But they don’t tell you what that is.”
- At the end of last week, the Florida Board of Medicine discussed a proposal from DeSantis’ administration that would ban physicians from providing treatments to transgender children.
- The petition proposes a “standard of care” that would prohibit patients under the age of 18 from receiving reassignment surgery and puberty-blocking hormone treatments.
