Epstein Client List Myth Crushed by Dershowitz

Alan Dershowitz, prominent attorney and former legal counsel to Jeffrey Epstein, rejected claims of a secret “client list” tied to Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes. In a Wall Street Journal op-ed, Dershowitz clarified that no such list existed and denied all connections between Epstein and foreign intelligence agencies. He also raised suspicions about Epstein’s death, pointing to jail staff failures.

Dershowitz stated Epstein never compiled a list of high-profile abusers. Instead, the FBI collected names from alleged victims during interviews, but those names remain sealed under court order. According to Dershowitz, the sealed names include no current government officials. He called on the courts to release the names so the public can assess the truth for themselves.

He also addressed rampant speculation about Epstein’s alleged ties to foreign intelligence services, specifically Israeli Mossad. Dershowitz dismissed these claims, asserting that neither he nor other Epstein attorneys ever received such information. He cited Israeli sources who confirmed Epstein had no link to Mossad, contradicting accusations promoted by some media figures. Dershowitz argued that if Epstein had been tied to intelligence, his legal team would have used that to negotiate a better plea deal.

On the question of Epstein’s death, Dershowitz agreed with the conclusion that it was a suicide but suggested jail personnel may have played a role, directly or indirectly. He pointed to evidence of broken surveillance cameras, the removal of Epstein’s cellmate, and missing guards during critical hours. He said those irregularities raised questions that remain unresolved.

Dershowitz also addressed speculation involving President Donald Trump, firmly stating that Trump acted properly and even banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago. He noted that there was no improper behavior by Trump in connection with Epstein.

His op-ed counters narratives pushed by some in media and politics, emphasizing legal clarity and transparency over rumor and innuendo. Dershowitz’s comments reinforce a broader conservative call for due process, equal justice, and the unsealing of court documents in high-profile criminal cases.
