White House Deputy Press Secretary Abigail Jackson is leaving her position to take on a role at a strategy firm.
“President Trump is the greatest President of my lifetime — it’s been a tremendous honor to work for his Administration and alongside such talented colleagues on behalf of the American people,” she wrote on X, responding to reports on her departure. “Looking forward to this next chapter!”
“Abby Jackson is one of the best communicators in Republican politics, and she’s played an invaluable role on my team, working closely with senior administration officials to shape press coverage, and deliver President Trump’s message at the highest level,” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement reported by The Hill. “But what truly sets Abby apart is her character. She’s a workhorse and someone you can always count on to get the job done.”
In a separate statement on X, Leavitt confirmed reports that Assistant DHS Secretary for Public Affairs Lauren Bis will fill Jackson’s role. “We are very sad to see [Jackson] go, but look forward to welcoming Lauren to our team,” she wrote. “Lauren has been a key player at DHS since day one and she will fit right in at the White House!”
In a similar comment reported by Axios, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller called Jackson “a communications powerhouse, demonstrating at all times the highest degree of tenacity, integrity, professionalism and talent.”
Jackson will depart August 7 to join OnMessage Public Strategies. The company called her a “rock star” and celebrated her joining their team.
