Democratic Rep. Jamaal Bowman Fire Alarm Footage Released After Guilty Plea

Footage of Democratic “squad” member Rep. Jamaal Bowman pulling a fire alarm in a House office building was released last week after he pleaded guilty to the charges.

In the video, Bowman appears to approach the doors, pulling down a red alarm sign in the entryway.

The congressman then tried to open the left door while knocking over the next alarm sign.

Bowman claimed that the incident was an accident, and that he had done so while in a hurry to vote on a potential government shutdown.

“What I did was against D.C. law,” Bowman admitted. “As I said from the very beginning, I was not trying to disrupt any congressional proceedings, I’m glad the investigation yielded that.”

The Representative pulled the fire alarm around the same time the House was expected to vote on a bill Republicans introduced to avoid a shutdown.

From Fox News:

Users online blasted Bowman after the video's release, with Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz, a Republican, quipping that this "is what lawyers would call 'intent.'"

"Why is this footage only coming to light now? We know he got his plea deal, but this is outrageous," Fox News contributor Tammy Bruce tweeted.
