Democratic representative Maxwell Frost (FL) is demanding that illegal immigrants receive mass amnesty.
“To my Republican colleagues who say, ‘I don’t want any undocumented people in this country,’ I actually agree with you,” he said during a press conference. “So let’s document every single one of them.”
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) condemned the suggestion, writing on social media, “Republicans will never let this dangerous idea happen. We must defend common sense and the rule of law.”
National Press Secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, Mike Marinella, said Democrats want to “fundamentally transform our country with mass amnesty for every single illegal immigrant, and this is exactly why voters don’t trust a word they say.”
Frost went on to call immigration enforcement operations a “terror campaign,” urging ICE agents to “quit now.”
“Go do something else,” he said. “Because just doing what you’re told has been the justification for some of the worst horrors and crimes against humanity in the history of not just this nation but the world.”
Frost was one of several Democrats who traveled to El Salvador to visit deported illegal immigrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
“Donald Trump and his Administration are running a government-funded kidnapping program– illegally arresting, jailing, and deporting innocent people with zero due process. Kilmar Abrego Garcia is Trump’s latest victim,” Frost said in April. “As Members of Congress it is our responsibility to hold the President and Administration accountable for defying the constitution of the United States. Donald Trump and ICE are not above the law. Today it’s Kilmar, but tomorrow it could be anyone else. We cannot and will not let Donald Trump get away with this.”
