Democrat-Dominant Pennsylvania County Flips Republican

A Democratic stronghold in Pennsylvania now has more Republican voter registrations.

Luzerne County has 87,415 voters registered with the Republican Party, whereas 87,332 voters have registered as Democrats.

More than 6,000 residents of the county have registered as third-party voters, and another 22,000 are unaffiliated with any party.

According to WFMZ, Democrats have been the majority in Luzerne County since 1970. A shift toward the Republican Party began in 2014.

Luzerne County Republican Party Chairman Gene Ziemba believes the increased GOP voter registrations are the result of local efforts from the party.

Ziemba told the outlet that he is “excited that our work is getting out and being heard,” but added that the “celebration will not be till Nov. 5.”

“We can’t afford to take our foot off the gas. I believe Luzerne County holds the key to Mr. Trump taking Pennsylvania on Nov. 5,” he said. “Luzerne County holds the key to the election.”

Conservative activist Scott Presler called the voter registrations “monumental.”

“This is monumental, earth-shattering, ground shaking news,” he wrote on X. “Thank you to EVERY single volunteer that contributed to this victory!”
