Debate Moderator Linsey Davis Falsely Claims ‘No State’ Legally Kills Babies After Birth

Debate moderator Linsey Davis falsely claimed during Tuesday’s presidential debate that there is “no state in this country where it is legal to kill a baby after it is born.”

Discussing Harris’ abortion policy, Trump said, “Will she allow abortion in the 8th month, 9th month, 7th month? Come on. Okay. Would you do that? Why don’t you ask? Why don’t you answer?”

“They have abortion in the ninth month. You can look at the governor of West Virginia, the previous governor of West Virginia — not the current governor, who is doing an excellent job, but the governor before — he said the baby will be born, and we will decide what to do with the baby,” Trump said.

“In other words, we’ll execute it. And that’s why I did that, because that predominates, because they’re radical. The Democrats are radical. … Her vice presidential pick says abortion in the ninth month is absolutely fine. He also says execution after birth is execution — no longer abortion because the baby is born OK, and that’s not OK with me.”

Trump referred to statements made by former Virginia Governor Ralph Northam.

Northam said in 2019, “If a mother is in labor, I can tell you exactly what would happen. The infant would be delivered. The infant would be kept comfortable. The infant would be resuscitated if that’s what the mother and the family desired.”

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany shared a headline on X that revealed Harris’ running mate, Governor Mike Walz, permitted babies to be left for dead after surviving abortions.

Libertarian-conservative political commentator Dave Rubin similarly noted that “Trump is absolutely telling the truth on the radical abortion policy in blue states.”

Rubin shared a clip of a report explaining Minnesota’s abortion statute, which “does not include any specific prohibitions on abortions at any stage of pregnancy,” the report read.
