Cruz Explodes on Judge—Calls for Impeachment

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) declared during a press conference that Judge James Boasberg must be immediately impeached. Discussing the recent revelation that numerous Senators were targeted, with phone records seized without proper notice, Cruz called for accountability for the “zealots” corrupting the Department of Justice.

“I am right now calling on the House of Representatives to impeach Judge Boasberg. Judge Boasberg put his robe down, stood up, and said, ‘Sign me up to be part of the partisan vendetta against 20% of the Republicans in the Senate,’” Cruz stated. “That is a dereliction of duty and a violation of the judicial oath.”

“I want to thank Chairman Grassley and Chairman Johnson for pursuing this tenaciously, like a dog on a bone,” he continued. “We are going to get the answers of every person who signed off on this abuse of power — and mark my words, there will be accountability for these zealots who wanted to corrupt the Department of Justice and corrupt the judiciary in order to try to attack their enemies list.”

Speaking to Newsmax about Boasberg, Cruz said, “When Judge Boasberg decided to become a partisan warrior, he became part of the most egregious abuse of power. This is Joe Biden’s Watergate, and I believe the House should impeach Judge Boasberg.”

In March, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) filed articles of impeachment against Judge Boasberg after the judge halted the Trump administration’s deportation flights of Venezuelan gang members.

President Trump has also called for the judge’s impeachment, calling Boasberg a “troublemaker and agitator.”
