Congressmen Reunite With Family After Deadly Floods

Republican lawmaker Rep. August Pfluger (TX) announced that he was reunited with his daughters in the aftermath of the Texas floods. His daughters were evacuated from Camp Mystic.

“Camille, Vivian and I are now reunited with Caroline and Juliana who were evacuated from Camp Mystic,” Pfluger said over the weekend. “The last day has brought unimaginable grief to many families and we mourn with them as well as holding out hope for survivors.”

“We want to thank the first responders who have come from far and wide to save lives. The TX Division of Emergency Management has been incredible and the White House, DHS, FEMA, DPS and local officials have all been responsive and helpful,” he wrote, adding, “Please join us today as we pray for miracles.”

Pfluger further stated that he and his wife are “praying for everyone affected by this tragedy” and noted that there are “countless heroes who acted so bravely during this tragic situation – who sacrificed for others – thank you…and for most of you we will never even know the stories or understand what you did! But, THANK YOU!”

“We pray for those who have lost loved ones. May God’s peace cover you and your family,” the congressman declared.

Similarly, Rep. Buddy Carter (R-GA) noted that his granddaughters were saved during the disaster.

“As you may have heard, my granddaughters were at the summer camp in Texas that flooded. They are safe, and I thank you for your well-wishes and prayers during this time,” he wrote on social media. “Unfortunately, not everyone was as lucky. My granddaughters lost their cousin, Janie, and many other families are grieving loved ones.”

“Please join me in prayers for Texas. We must ensure that they have the resources they need to find those still missing and save lives,” said Carter.
