First Lady Melania Trump visited The Children’s Inn at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to be with children for Valentine’s Day.
“Love reveals itself in many forms, especially in the hardest moments of care and compassion,” the First Lady said of the visitation. “The Children’s Inn provides important support to children who have been diagnosed with rare and serious diseases. Returning to The Children’s Inn at NIH is a special reminder of warmth that exists here year-round thanks to the profound resilience of these young people and the dedication of those working to provide comfort, hope, and support during clinical trials. I wish them all a very happy Valentine’s Day.”
Upon joining the children, Mrs. Trump made handmade valentines and took part in other craft activities.
Trump’s visit serves as her latest mark of support for children. In January, the First Lady encouraged children to treat artificial intelligence as a tool for imagination.
While encouraging young minds to “use AI to unlock new parts of your imagination” and to “lead with your ideas,” the first lady warned that Americans must “never surrender” their thinking to AI. “Choose to let your imagination drive your intellectual progress. But never use AI as a quick solution. Be intellectually honest with yourself – use AI as a tool – but do not let it replace your personal intelligence,” she stated.
Over the Christmas season, Mrs. Trump visited Marine Corps Base Quantico to honor military families and their children as part of a partnership with Toys for Tots and the Toy Association. “To the families of military personnel: you are the heart of today’s celebration. Your strength in the face of adversity is inspirational. Some of the children here today have a parent stationed away from home right now. I know this can be difficult. On behalf of our Nation, thank you,” she said, encouraging families to “wish for the ultimate gift—love.”
