House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) has accused CBS News of editing his recent interview with “Face the Nation” host Margaret Brennen.
Johnson wrote on X that CBS removed “FIVE important minutes out of my nearly 15 minute interview.”
He explained that he “traveled to NC and victims of Hurricane Helene told me nearly two weeks after landfall, the Biden-Harris Administration had STILL not provided them with all the resources they desperately needed.”
CBS “selectively edited OUT ENTIRELY this first-hand perspective,” Johnson said.
Johnson shared another video where he and Brennan discussed voting laws. CBS removed a segment where Johnson detailed Virginia’s efforts to clean the state’s voter rolls.
“Apparently, CBS also doesn’t want you to hear about Virginia Gov. Youngkin, who is trying to clean the state’s voter rolls so non-American citizens can’t vote there,” Johnson wrote on social media.
CBS also cut portions of a segment where Johnson and Brennan discussed election integrity.
“The Biden-Harris Admin let millions of illegal aliens in our country,” the House Speaker explained. “So, the House passed the SAVE Act to ensure only American citizens vote in American elections. CBS edited that out and focused on 2020 instead of immediate threats to election integrity.”
The accusation comes as the network’s “60 Minutes” show edited its interview with Kamala Harris to portray her in a favorable light.
In a clip from the interview, host Bill Whitaker and Harris discussed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Harris said, “The work that we have done has resulted in a number of movements in that region by Israel that were very much prompted by or a result of many things, including our advocacy for what needs to happen in the region.”
When the interview aired, audiences noticed that Harris’ answer had been edited to: “We are not going to stop pursuing what is necessary for the United States to be clear about where we stand on the need for this war to end.”
