Canadian Dairy Queen Offers $2 Burgers for Trudeau’s Resignation

A Dairy Queen in British Columbia offered “Trudeau Resignation Burgers” earlier this week for $2 dollars to recognize the prime minister’s departure.

Residents of Langley told Global News that they were pleased to see him resign.

“I’m kind of happy he’s stepping down and I believe doing the right thing,” resident Sabina Srubiski told Global News. “I don’t like his leadership. I don’t think he’s been effective for a long time. To be honest, I think he held on for way too long. There was a bit of a, you know, delusional aspiration and his hanging on. So it’s really time for him to move on.”

Another resident, Berhnard Wolf, agreed that Trudeau’s resignation was needed.

“It was actually unfortunate that he hung on as long as he did,” he said. “And like I said, I just wish it would happen a lot sooner.”

Trudeau announced his resignation as leader of the Liberal Party on Monday, saying, “I intend to resign as party leader, as prime minister, after the party selects its next leader through a robust nationwide, competitive process,” he said during a press conference. “Last night I asked the president of the Liberal Party to begin that process. This country deserves a real choice in the next election, and it has become clear to me that if I’m having to fight internal battles, I cannot be the best option in that election.”

A January 3 poll showed that support for the Liberals with Trudeau as its leader dropped to 13 percent. The poll further noted that Trudeau had a 59% disapproval rating.
