Bruce Springsteen Renews Calls for Trump Impeachment, President Fires Back

Aging rock star Bruce Springsteen has once again demanded that President Donald Trump be impeached, dismissing Democrats as lacking the courage to push for more proceedings against him. Despite multiple failed impeachment efforts during Trump’s first term—and repeated symbolic filings by Democrats since—Springsteen claimed in a new interview with Time magazine that Trump “is exactly the sort of president who needs to be impeached.”

“He’s the living personification of what the 25th Amendment and impeachment were for,” Springsteen declared. “If Congress had any guts, he’d be consigned to the trash heap of history.” He also criticized Democrats for failing to connect with voters. “We’re desperately in need of an effective alternative party, or for the Democratic Party to find someone who can speak to the majority of the nation,” he said, arguing that the party’s rhetoric was ineffective.

Springsteen insisted he doesn’t care what Trump thinks of him, though the President has not shied away from voicing his opinion of the outspoken rocker. In May, Trump blasted Springsteen as “Highly Overrated” and a “dried out prune,” mocking both his music and his political activism.

“I see that Highly Overrated Bruce Springsteen goes to a Foreign Country to speak badly about the President of the United States,” Trump posted on Truth Social. “Never liked him, never liked his music, or his Radical Left Politics, and importantly, he’s not a talented guy — Just a pushy, obnoxious JERK.”

Trump went further, calling Springsteen “dumb as a rock” and accusing him of blindly supporting “Crooked Joe Biden,” whom Trump described as “mentally incompetent” and “our WORST EVER President.” He suggested Springsteen should “KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT until he gets back into the Country.”

Springsteen, now 75, has long aligned himself with progressive politics, often using his platform to attack conservatives. His continued calls for impeachment add to a chorus of left-wing voices seeking to delegitimize Trump, despite repeated failed attempts and lack of legal grounds. Meanwhile, President Trump continues to frame Springsteen as a washed-up entertainer clinging to political activism as his relevance in music wanes.
