Boy Scouts of America Changes Name for ‘Inclusivity’

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) announced that it is changing its name to “Scouting America” in an effort to be more inclusive.

According to a statement on X, the renaming reflects the organization’s “ongoing commitment to welcome every youth and family in America to experience the benefits of Scouting.”

Conservative X account End Wokeness responded to the announcement, writing, “Another iconic institution killed at the hands of wokeness. Beyond pathetic.”

The change will go into effect on February 8, 2025, according to a press release.

The name change also comes as girls have been welcomed into scouting programs for the last five years.

“Scouting America currently serves more than 176,000 girls and young women across all programs, including over 6,000 who have earned the rank of Eagle Scout,” the statement adds.

Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk drew attention to the organization’s changes over the last several years.

“As an Eagle Scout, I can say definitively: The Boy Scouts have absolutely collapsed over the past 15 years of ’emphasizing inclusion.’ Membership is in the toilet. The churches, organizations, and families who were once the bedrock of Scouting have abandoned it in droves. Something tells me changing their name won’t help,” he wrote. “The left never wanted to improve scouting. They saw an organization outside their control, something people cared about, and so they infiltrated it, corrupted it, and ruined it.”

“What a shame.”

“The Boy Scouts of America are the latest example of the leftist mind virus infiltrating an organization in America,” RedWave Press wrote.
