Attorney General Pam Bondi said in an interview with Just the News that she will pursue investigations into officials from the Obama and Biden administrations.
“At my direction, our U.S. Attorneys and federal agents are actively investigating instances of government weaponization nationwide,” Bondi told the outlet in a written interview. “This is a ten-year stain on the country committed by high-ranking officials against the American people.”
She further explained that those in the FBI “shielded political figures like Hunter Biden and Hillary Clinton while pursuing conservatives for their beliefs, using legal process and operations that were excessive, instead of protecting Americans from public safety threats posed by an open border and violent crime.” Some in the FBI “went so far as to serve search warrants that their own Department and law enforcement officials believed were excessive,” she said, likely referring to a recent report indicating that officials raised probable cause concerns with the 2022 raid on President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago.
2022 records released by Senator Chuck Grassley’s (R-IA) office revealed that the FBI’s Washington Field Office had been “drafting a search warrant affidavit related to these potential boxes, but has some concerns that the information is single source, has not been corroborated, and may be dated.” The documents went on to declare that the Washington Field Office did not believe that it “established probable cause for the search warrant for classified records at Mar-a-Lago.”
“This Department of Justice takes government weaponization seriously. That means protecting civil liberties, preventing election interference, and holding bad actors accountable,” Bondi wrote. “No one is above the law, even if they think they are.”
