Maher Warns, ‘Globalize the Intifada’ Rhetoric Sparks Violence

Bill Maher is calling out the dangerous rhetoric festering on college campuses, warning that slogans like “globalize the intifada” are not just words—they have deadly consequences. Speaking on Friday’s episode of HBO’s Real Time, Maher said college students view the Israel-Hamas war as part of a larger battle against Jews and white people, fueling radicalization and violence.

Maher pointed to the recent shooting outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C., where a gunman with no direct ties to the region admitted he acted “for Palestine.” Maher asked, “If you have kids screaming on campus, globalize the intifada, bring the intifada home, this is what you get, this is what they mean.”

He argued that the warped ideology on campuses—where Western civilization itself is seen as suspect—feeds into violent acts. “They have this idea of the war in Israel being just part of this global problem that we have with Jews and white people,” Maher said. He questioned how such beliefs could lead to random attacks on innocent people, saying, “This is what leftism is now? This is what makes you left, shooting innocent people down?”

Maher’s blunt assessment highlights a growing concern: radical leftist ideology is transforming universities into breeding grounds for anti-Semitism, anti-Western sentiment, and dangerous political activism. Maher’s message is clear—these ideas are not abstract theories. They have real-world consequences, and it’s time to confront them before more innocent lives are lost.
