Biden Warns Iran Against Attack on Israel Amid Missile Strike Threats

President Joe Biden issued a stern warning to Iran against launching an attack on Israel amid reports of an impending missile strike targeting the country.

During a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House on Sunday, Biden emphasized the United States’ unwavering commitment to Israel’s security in the face of potential threats from Tehran.

“We want to address the Iranian threat… they’re threatening to launch a significant attack in Israel,” Biden stated. “As I told Prime Minister [Benjamin] Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again, ironclad… we will do all we can to protect Israel’s security.”

On Wednesday evening, Bloomberg reported that U.S. intelligence officials believed an attack on Israeli soil was imminent and could involve “high-precision missiles.”

A Pentagon official declined to comment on reports of U.S. preparations to intercept Iranian missiles or participate in retaliatory strikes alongside Israel.

Foreign embassies reportedly began evacuations in anticipation of an attack following remarks by Iran’s supreme leader, who vowed retaliation for an air strike on an Iranian embassy compound in Syria.

While Israel has not claimed responsibility for the strike, which killed two generals and five military advisers on April 1, tensions have escalated with Ayatollah Khamenei promising retribution.

U.S. officials believe any potential Iranian strike would likely target military and government installations rather than civilian areas. The prospect of an attack is considered a matter of when, not if, by intelligence sources.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has warned of a swift and decisive response to any attack, promising a “powerful response” on Iranian territory.

Iran’s support for groups like Hamas has intensified the conflict, with Hezbollah in Lebanon seen as a potential launch site for an attack.

Meanwhile, the UK has reaffirmed support for Israel’s right to self-defense amid rising tensions, with Lufthansa suspending flights to Tehran due to the escalating situation in the Middle East.

In a separate development, three sons of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh were killed in an Israeli strike in central Gaza, prompting further escalation in the region
