Biden Reportedly Halts Shipment to Israel to ‘Send a Political Message’

President Joe Biden reportedly halted a weapons shipment to Israel to “send a political message” according to a report from Politico, citing seven individuals familiar with the matter.

The shipment was to contain munitions and kits that “convert them to smart weapons,” the report explained.

Approval of the package has been delayed in an effort to send a “political message” an official emphasized.

According to internet personality Mario Nawfal, while the U.S. is “not refusing the sale, they are holding off on various aspects of the approval process, which marks the first time the Biden administration has delayed arms shipments to Israel since the Oct 7th attack.”

The move follows Israel’s calling for civilians in Rafah to evacuate.

While Israel considered an effort in Rafah, U.S. officials “began to carefully review proposed transfers of particular weapons to Israel that might be used in Rafah,” a source said, according to Reuters.

“As a result of that review, we have paused one shipment of weapons last week. It consists of 1,800 2,000-lb bombs and 1,700 500-lb bombs,” the individual said. “As a result of that review, we have paused one shipment of weapons last week.
