On ABC’s The View Wednesday, Joy Behar accused President Donald Trump of being “in over his head” during his recent interview with ABC News, claiming he struggled to answer “the simplest questions.” But her criticism rings hollow given President Joe Biden’s repeated inability to answer basic questions in public appearances.
Behar remarked, “He doesn’t even recognize his own fake images at this point. But here’s what I say: I watched the whole thing, and I’m really starting to feel sorry for him. He’s over his head. The simplest questions he cannot answer.” She referenced Trump’s interaction with ABC’s Terry Moran, saying, “He knows that only immigration is maybe where he’s been somewhat successful. And then he turns on Terry Moran when he asks, ‘How dare you ask me a question I can’t answer?’”
Co-host Sunny Hostin followed up by suggesting the United States is facing a “constitutional crisis” over Trump’s comments about legal proceedings, accusing him of defying the rule of law. “So when lawyers talk about a constitutional crisis, ladies and gentlemen, we are here,” Hostin said.
However, Behar’s claims of Trump being overwhelmed ignore the glaring reality of President Biden’s frequent and highly publicized gaffes. Biden has repeatedly failed to recall names, confused world leaders, misread teleprompters, and even wandered off during interviews — raising serious concerns about his fitness for office. During several interviews and press conferences, Biden has visibly struggled to answer even basic policy questions, leading many Americans to question who is truly “over their head.”
Despite Behar’s attempt to discredit Trump, Biden’s repeated cognitive lapses remain on full display. Americans have watched the current president falter when asked about inflation, foreign policy, and even his own administration’s actions. The comparison undermines Behar’s credibility and shifts scrutiny back to the Oval Office.
