Barry Manilow Diagnosed With Lung Cancer, Cancels 2026 Tour Dates

Legendary pop singer Barry Manilow has postponed several 2026 tour dates after being diagnosed with early‑stage lung cancer, the artist revealed. The iconic “Copacabana” crooner says doctors found a growth on his left lung during a routine checkup and believe they caught it early enough for effective treatment.

In an Instagram post to fans, Manilow shared that the cancer has not spread and described his diagnosis as “pure luck” because he happened to go in for a checkup when he did. As a result, he is taking time off the road to undergo surgery and focus on his recovery.

“The only follow‑up is a month to recover and that means we have to reschedule January arena concerts,” he wrote, apologizing to ticket holders who had made plans to see him perform. “I’m very sorry that you have to change your plans. Just like you, we were all looking forward to the January shows and hate having to move everything around.”

Manilow closed his message with encouragement for fans to take their health seriously. “If you have even the slightest symptom… get tested!” he advised.

The 81‑year‑old singer said he is hopeful about his recovery timeline and is aiming to resume performances by February to fulfill the remainder of his concert commitments later in 2026.

This is not Manilow’s first encounter with cancer. In 2020, he underwent treatment for throat cancer and made a successful recovery. His openness about his health journey has drawn supportive responses from fans and fellow artists alike.

Manilow’s career has spanned decades, with hits that have become staples of pop music. As news of his health situation spreads, fans are rallying behind the music legend with well‑wishes and prayers for a swift recovery.
