The Arizona GOP filed a lawsuit against its Secretary of State Adrian Fontes after it discovered hundreds of thousands of illegal voters on voter rolls.
In an official statement, the Arizona Republican Party wrote that the lawsuit “exposes shocking inaccuracies in Arizona’s voter registration records and demands immediate corrective action.”
Arizona GOP Chair Gina Swoboda said, “Accurate voter rolls are the bedrock of our constitutional republic. The rampant presence of ineligible voters on our rolls is unacceptable and undermines the trust Arizonans place in our electoral process.”
According to the lawsuit, some counties exceeded 100% of their eligible voters.
Overall, the state of Arizona has between 500,000 to nearly 1.3 million ineligible voters, including those who are deceased.
“[A]t a minimum, reliable data shows that Arizona’s voter rolls contain at least 500,000 voters that should not be currently registered,” the lawsuit reads.
That there are so many ineligible voters on the state’s voter rolls signifies Fontes’ failure to perform his duty as Secretary of State, the lawsuit claims,
