Brandon Gill, the son-in-law of political commentator Dinesh D’Souza, won Texas’ 26th congressional district.
Gill secured 58.4% of the vote.
The victory comes as Super PACs have poured millions into ads against Gill.
According to NBC News, PACs Conservatives for American Excellence spent $965,311 against the Trump-endorsed candidate and America Leads Action spent $1.1 million.

Gill also received an endorsement from Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
Cruz told the Daily Caller in January, “Brandon Gill has all the best characteristics of a Texan: Dedicated, hardworking, and resilient. With a deep understanding of what it means to take on the left and the corrupt mainstream media, Brandon has set himself apart from other candidates and is the best qualified to fight the radical left and their disastrous agenda in Congress.”
“I am proud to endorse him for TX-26 and look forward to seeing him win his race.”
Gill responded to his victory in an X thread, writing, “Conservatives of #TX26 demand change in Washington. They want a secure border, an end to out of control spending, and our America First values represented. I want to thank them for entrusting me with their vote.”
“This campaign wasn’t about me, it was about the people of our great district who want to send a true conservative to Congress that will fight alongside President Trump,” he wrote, adding, “To the swamp super PACs whose deceptive lies have been rejected by the voters in Texas’ 26th district—Your anti-Trump hate has no place here. Last night was a historic victory for the 26th District, for President Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, and all who endorsed our campaign.”
