Texas Stock Exchange Launches

The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE), based in Dallas, officially launched last Friday.

“On this historic day, Texas asserts its place as the financial capital of America. The Texas Stock Exchange now operates at full capacity and projects the economic strength of Texas across the nation and the world,” said Governor Greg Abbott. “This state-of-the-art platform affirms Texas’ leadership in free enterprise and capital markets. We will make Texas stronger and more prosperous than ever before.”

TXSE’s website describes its development: “In April 2026, the Texas Stock Exchange convened a group of distinguished business and policy leaders around a single thesis: the BOOM BELT has become the center of gravity for American capitalism, and the infrastructure of our public markets needs to reflect that reality.”

“Critical to achieving this goal is a return to First Principles — where policy at the state, federal, and exchange level is aligned with the foundational purpose of public markets: facilitating capital formation,” the site reads. “As the only primary corporate and ETP listings venue built and headquartered in the BOOM BELT, TXSE is both a product of the region’s rise and a catalyst to accelerate it.”

Upon announcing the development of the Dallas office in February 2025, Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group, said in a statement, “As the state with the largest number of NYSE listings, representing over $3.7 trillion in market value for our community, Texas is a market leader in fostering a pro-business atmosphere. We are delighted to expand our presence in the Lone Star State, which plays a key role in driving our U.S. economy forward.”

President Trump criticized the Dallas expansion, believing it to be a “bad thing” for New York. “Building a ‘New York Stock Exchange’ in Dallas is an UNBELIEVABLY BAD THING FOR NEW YORK,” he wrote on Truth Social last year. “I can’t believe they would let this happen. A big test for the new Mayor!”
