Israel Eliminates Hamas Military Head

Israel’s military said it killed Mohammad Odeh, Hamas’s new military chief.

Odeh previously served as the head of the terrorist group’s intelligence headquarters, where he was responsible for planning and facilitating targets during the October 7 massacre in southern Israel.

“As part of the operation to eliminate Odeh, the IDF struck terrorist infrastructure sites in Gaza City that were used by Odeh and additional Hamas operatives,” the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said in a press release. “The strike followed months of intelligence monitoring and operational tracking.”

“Odeh was among the last remaining senior Hamas military commanders involved in the planning and execution of the October 7th massacre and in directing combat operations against IDF troops during the war,” the IDF added. “His elimination constitutes a significant blow to Hamas’ military leadership and its efforts to rebuild operational capabilities.”

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a social media statement that Odeh was “eliminated yesterday and sent to meet his partners in the depths of hell.”

“In the name of the Prime Minister and in my name, congratulations to the IDF and the Shin Bet for the brilliant execution,” he wrote. “We committed to eliminating everyone who led the October 7 massacre, and so it shall be: they are all sentenced to death, wherever they may be. We committed that Hamas will not rule Gaza civilly or militarily, and so it shall be, and also the voluntary emigration plan from Gaza will be implemented—everything at the right timing and in the right manner.”
