Former Republican New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is in critical condition at a hospital and is receiving treatment after being hospitalized for unspecified reasons.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” spokesperson Ted Goodman wrote on X. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak. We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
President Trump drew attention to the situation on Truth Social. “Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” he wrote. “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”
Giuliani was injured in a car accident in 2025. He sustained a fractured vertebra, cuts, and bruises—particularly to his left arm and lower leg.
Giuliani was also pardoned by President Trump in November 2025 after being accused of being involved in the effort to challenge the results of the 2020 election.
“This proclamation ends a grave national injustice perpetrated upon the American people following the 2020 Presidential Election and continues the process of national reconciliation,” the document reads, declaring that President Trump grants a “full, complete and unconditional pardon to all United States citizens for conduct relating to the advice, creation, organization, execution, submission, support, voting, activities, participation in, or advocacy for or of any slate or proposed slate of Presidential electors, whether or not recognized by any State or State official, in connection with the 2020 Presidential Election, as well for any conduct relating to their efforts to expose voting fraud and vulnerabilities in the 2020 Presidential Election.”
