Hegseth Lifts Suspension of Pilots in Kid Rock Flyby

Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that he is lifting the suspension of the aircrew involved in the flyby of Kid Rock’s Tennessee home.

Kid Rock said of the flyby, in part, “God Bless America and all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to defend her.”

Hegseth thanked Kid Rock in response, declaring that the pilots’ suspension was lifted. “No punishment. No investigation. Carry on, patriots,” he wrote on X.

The news follows President Trump saying he would “take a look at it.”

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asked the president, “There was a viral video this week of army helicopters near Kid Rock’s house.” He added, “They said the crews of the helicopters had been suspended. What do you think of that?”

“They probably should not have been doing it,” President Trump said. “I will take a look at it. If they like Kid Rock, I like Kid Rock. Maybe they were trying to defend him.”

A spokesperson for Fort Campbell said on Monday that an investigation into the matter was underway.

“Fort Campbell leadership is aware of a video circulating on social media depicting AH-64 Apache helicopters operating in the vicinity of a private residence associated with Mr. Robert Ritchie (also known as ‘Kid Rock’). The command has initiated an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this activity,” explained Maj. Jonathon Bless, 101st Airborne Division Public Affairs Officer, in a statement obtained by WKRN. “The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell maintain strict standards for aviation safety, professionalism, and adherence to established flight regulations. We take all concerns regarding aircraft operations and their impact on the surrounding community seriously.”

Kid Rock spoke to a reporter about the event, where he said he “just gave them a salute, kind of a thank you, and man, it was a level of respect that I got that no award or record sales could do.”
