Gold Trump Coin Approved

The Commission of Fine Arts (CFA) approved the final design for a commemorative coin featuring an image of President Trump.

The top half of the coin spells “LIBERTY” and features 1776 and 2026. The phrase “IN GOD WE TRUST” is at the bottom with seven stars on one side of the coin and six stars on the other.

The reverse side of the coin features a bald eagle.

“As we approach our 250th birthday, we are thrilled to prepare coins that represent the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, and there is no profile more emblematic for the front of such coins than that of our serving President, Donald J. Trump,” U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said in a statement.

A previous draft of a 250 coin featured President Trump on a $1 coin. “No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and [President Trump] are real,” Beach said last year. “Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.” The draft images of the coin feature the phrase, “Fight, fight, fight,” from the Pennsylvania rally when a bullet grazed Trump’s ear.

Other coins celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary include quarters featuring the Mayflower Compact, the Revolutionary War, the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Gettysburg Address. The dime features a bald eagle and is called “Emerging Liberty,” and the nickel features Thomas Jefferson and his Monticello home with the word “liberty” written in his handwriting. Other coins will feature a “unique Liberty Bell privy mark inscribed with the numeral ‘250,’” the Mint explained.
