Islamic Countries Condemn Iranian Attacks

A group of Arab and Islamic countries has condemned Iran’s missile and drone strikes on civilian infrastructure, warning against future action.

The joint statement, issued by the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates, declared that “such attacks could not be justified under any pretext or in any manner whatsoever.”

The officials urged Iran to “halt its attacks and affirmed the necessity of respecting international law, international humanitarian law, and the principles of good neighborliness, as a first step toward ending the escalation, achieving security and stability in the region, and promoting diplomacy as a means to resolve the crisis,” the statement says, going on to urge Iran to immediately cease its “provocative acts or threats against neighboring states,” including its financing and arming of “affiliated militias in Arab countries.”

According to the statement, the officials “reaffirm their commitment to continuing intensive consultation and coordination in this regard, to monitor developments and assess emerging issues in a way that ensures the formulation of common positions and the adoption of necessary legitimate measures and procedures to protect their security, stability, and sovereignty, and to halt the Iranian heinous attacks on their territories,” it adds.

The statement follows Israel striking Iran’s South Pars gas field, which prompted Iran to launch retaliatory attacks on Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

“The United States of America, with or without the help or consent of Israel, will massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before,” President Trump warned on Truth Social. “I do not want to authorize this level of violence and destruction because of the long term implications that it will have on the future of Iran, but if Qatar’s LNG is again attacked, I will not hesitate to do so.”
