Dearborn Islamic Group Holds Memorial Service for Ayatollah Khamenei

An Islamic entity in Dearborn, Michigan, held a memorial service for the killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

During the service, poet and lawyer Hassan Salamey called Khamenei the “great leader of our time.” His message pivoted to a condemnation of the United States, declaring that it is “clear that this country was build for and built by the Epstein class.” Salamey claimed that the United States is “stolen land” and asserted that the “Zionist-minded Christopher Columbus” contributed to what he called a “genocide” of natives.

He further called the Statue of Liberty “Lucifer,” stating that it is the “demonic bearer holding a torch of light” representing the “plan to dominate every land, regardless of borders.”

Dearborn Islamic scholar Usama Abdulghani then spoke, declaring that he offers his “congratulations on this ultimate honor that he received after 86 years of Jihad in the way of Allah.” He thanked those who brought their children, noting that their presence at the event allows them to “grow up with this culture, where we remember our martyrs, and we are not ashamed of them.”

An individual later proclaimed, “For victory is near, that was never debated. Haidar! Haidar!” The term refers to a “lion” and is connected to courage. The crowd then chanted “Haidar.”

Khamenei was killed during an airstrike on his compound in Tehran. He was the longest-serving Iranian leader since Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, who was deposed during the 1979 Islamic Revolution that created the current regime.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently warned that Iran “ultimately is governed, and its decisions are governed by Shiite clerics — radical Shiite clerics — who make policy decisions on the basis of pure theology.”
