UK to Release Epstein-Linked Docs

The United Kingdom is set to unseal documents linking former ambassador Peter Mandelson to Jeffrey Epstein.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s Chief Secretary, Darren Jones, told the House of Commons, as per Fox News, “The government expects to be able to publish the first tranche of documents very shortly, in early March.” He noted that “it remains the case that a subset of this first tranche of documents is currently subject to the ongoing Metropolitan Police investigation.”

Upon arresting Mandelson, who has since been released on bail, the London Metropolitan Police stated that the arrest stems from “suspicion of misconduct in public office.”

His arrest comes just days after former Prince Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in connection with his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

Documents on Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor are also expected to be released. Trade Minister Chris Bryant said the government will support a motion requiring files relating to the former prince’s 2001 appointment as a trade envoy to be unsealed. Politico reported that Bryant told Members of Parliament that releasing the documents “is the least we owe the victims of the horrific abuse that was perpetrated by Jeffrey Epstein and others.”

“We will put everything into the public domain when we can. I don’t want to do so at a time which would make it impossible for the police to secure the proper processes,” he added. Bryan also called the member of the royal family a “rude, arrogant and entitled man who could not distinguish between the public interest which he said he served, and his own private interest.”
