First Lady Melania Trump expressed heartfelt gratitude to supporters across the country, thanking them for years of prayers and encouragement and urging Americans to take care of one another.
Speaking Friday on Breitbart News Daily with host Mike Slater, Melania said she and her family deeply appreciate the kindness they continue to receive.
“I just want to thank them for all of the prayers and beautiful messages,” she said. “We’ve received so much here in the White House and at our other homes. I really appreciate their kindness and support.”
She added that her hope for supporters is simple.
“I wish for all of them to be healthy and to take care of each other,” Melania said. “To be positive and kind. That’s the most important thing. Take care of your family and also our beautiful country.”
Melania appeared on the program to encourage continued support for her documentary, Melania, which has seen strong box office momentum since its debut.
The film opened with more than $7 million in its first weekend, making it the strongest documentary opening in a decade. Since then, attendance has continued to grow, with images of group outings to theaters spreading across social media.
One viral photo showed nearly a dozen women attending a screening while dressed in replicas of Melania’s iconic Inauguration Day outfit.
“That was so sweet,” she said. “Someone sent that to me and it really made me laugh. It was beautiful how they put it together, from every little detail. From the shoes to the blouse. It was very, very sweet.”
Melania thanked supporters for their creativity and enthusiasm.
“Whatever they do, thank you,” she said.
Earlier in the interview, she emphasized her pride in the film and encouraged audiences to see it.
“We’ve had great success with the film. I’m very proud of it,” Melania said. “It is not an easy task to produce a film. I encourage everyone to go and see it.”
She described the documentary as a unique look into her life and responsibilities as first lady, focusing on the critical period leading up to the inauguration.
“It’s unprecedented and historic,” she said. “It’s a very cinematic look into my role and impact. It’s twenty days in my life before the inauguration.”
Melania concluded by encouraging Americans to view the project as part of a shared national story.
“This is for all of us,” she said. “This is us together. It’s history in the making.”
