The Church on MastersRoad in Manvel, Texas, opened its doors and welcomed the entire community to celebrate Christmas together with a weekend of free events designed to help people “advance in your journey with Christ.” The highlight of the celebration was a dazzling drone show featuring 1,000 synchronized drones, drawing crowds from across the region.
The festive event, known as Bright Lights, was created to bring neighbors together in celebration of the birth of Jesus. The invitation, open to everyone at no cost, described the weekend as a time for community, joy, and shared worship. “It’s all about coming together as a community and celebrating the birth of our Savior!” the church said.
The three‑evening event offered something for attendees of all ages. Families enjoyed warm cocoa and dinner, live musical performances, and even a snow hill for children — a rare Texas treat. The weekend culminated each night with the breathtaking drone show, which creatively portrayed the story of Christmas and shared the gospel through mesmerizing aerial formations.
Organizers said the drone choreography took viewers on a visual journey from Nazareth to Calvary, linking the ancient story to life today in Manvel. Community members took to social media to share their excitement and gratitude for the event.
“What. A. Weekend.,” the church wrote in a post after the final night. “The last two nights of Bright Lights have been filled with joy, laughter, and celebrating the birth of Jesus together. From the drone show and live music to kids having the time of their lives — it’s been such a gift to share this with our community.”
In addition to the entertainment and worship, the event also featured a “Cars for Christmas” giveaway, providing cars to members of the community in need. Participants were invited to share their stories and explain why transportation would make a meaningful difference in their lives, and vehicles were given away each night.
The celebration doesn’t end with Bright Lights. The Church on MastersRoad has announced five Christmas Eve services scheduled at 1:00 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 7:00 p.m., giving families even more opportunities to gather and reflect on the season.
