Nearly 200K Illegals Hit With Removal Orders

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has issued an estimated 196,600 Notices to Appear for removal proceedings since January 20, the agency shared.

“Under an updated policy confirming USCIS’ role as an immigration enforcement agency, the agency’s officers are once again empowered to enforce immigration law by issuing Notices to Appear,” the agency said in a statement. “And, they have done so in historic numbers. Since Jan. 20, USCIS officers have issued approximately 196,600 Notices to Appear to place aliens in removal proceedings.”

The number of NTAs reflects “historic levels of enforcement,” USCIS said in a separate fact sheet.

Similarly, USCIS has referred more than 14,400 illegal immigrants to ICE since January 20. This number includes 182 aliens who were “confirmed or suspected to be national security risks.” Other statistics include USCIS sending more than 29,000 immigration fraud referrals. Upon investigating the referrals, instances of fraud were discovered in 65% of the cases. More than 48 million voter verifications were also completed in 2025.

“With Secretary Noem in charge of homeland security, USCIS has taken an ‘America First’ approach, restoring order, security, integrity, and accountability to America’s immigration system, ensuring that it serves the nation’s interests and protects and prioritizes Americans over foreign nationals,” said USCIS Director Joseph Edlow. “The Biden administration spent four years dismantling, exploiting, and undermining America’s immigration system, flooding our country with criminal aliens. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem’s leadership, our border is secure, integrity has been restored to our immigration system, and the safety of our homeland comes first.”
