Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commended President Trump’s peace agreement with Hamas and Israel.
“I really commend President Trump and his administration, as well as Arab leaders in the region for making the commitment to the 20-point plan and seeing a path forward for what’s often called the day after,” Clinton told CBS News 24/7‘s Norah O’Donnell.
“Let’s now support this process and bring it together, not just in a nonpartisan way in our own country, but literally internationally as a great global commitment to try to bring peace, security, stability and a better future to the Middle East,” Clinton added.
Clinton has also said she would nominate President Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize if he ends the war in Ukraine. “If President Trump were the architect of that, I’d nominate him for a Nobel Peace Prize,” she stated.
According to Trump’s plan to end the conflict in Gaza, the agreement’s Board of Peace sets the “framework and handle[s] the funding for the redevelopment of Gaza until such time as the Palestinian Authority has completed its reform program, as outlined in various proposals, including President Trump’s peace plan in 2020 and the Saudi-French proposal, and can securely and effectively take back control of Gaza. This body will call on best international standards to create modern and efficient governance that serves the people of Gaza and is conducive to attracting investment.”
“No one will be forced to leave Gaza, and those who wish to leave will be free to do so and free to return,” the plan states. “We will encourage people to stay and offer them the opportunity to build a better Gaza.”
