Trump Pens Letter to Hostage Families on Oct. 7 Anniversary

President Donald Trump wrote a letter to the Hostage and Missing Families Forum, thanking them for nominating him for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“Since the abhorrent events of October 7, 2023, that saw families ripped apart, children torn from their parents’ arms, and innocent people shot, killed, and raped, I have been resolved to returning all the hostages home, and ensuring the total destruction of Hamas so these horrific acts may never be repeated,” Trump wrote in the letter, adding that his “entire administration has been touched” by the families’ advocacy.

Trump stated that his administration remains “steadfastly committed to seeing an end both to this conflict and the waves of anti-Semitism, both at home and abroad,” further writing that he remains “steadfastly committed to, and will work tirelessly towards, restoring a foreign policy of peace through strength ending the years of tireless wars, not just in the Middle East, but around the world.”

“May God bless you and your loved ones, and may He continue to bless the United States of America and the State of Israel, as we pray that this conflict will be at an end in the coming daysโ€”or else,” the letter concluded.

The message comes as hostage families urged the Norwegian Nobel Committee to award the Nobel Peace Prize to President Trump.

“President Trump’s determination to bring peace made possible what many said was impossible,” the letter says. “From the moment of his inauguration, he brought us light through our darkest times. Through his unwavering commitment and extraordinary leadership, 39 of our beloved family members have returned home.”

โ€œWe strongly urge you to award President Trump the Nobel Peace Prize because he has vowed he will not rest and will not stop until every last hostage is back home,โ€ it adds. “His unprecedented achievements in peacemaking deserve this recognition. For our families, and for millions around the world affected by his efforts, this honor would affirm that determined leadership and bold action in service of peace are what truly matter in our world.”
